De Beukeleer, Maite

Maite De Beukeleer is a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven. Previously she has obtained a Master’s Degree of History (2017) and a Master’s Degree of Cultural Management (2018) at the University of Antwerp. Together with Maarten Larmuseau, she published the book ‘In haar voetsporen: op zoek naar onze voormoeders’ (2021), on women’s history, family history and genetics.

Her doctoral research focusses on the history of the auxiliaires de l’Apostolat, lay women who combined a Christian vocation with a professional life, and studies their role in societal and ecclesiastical change in Belgium and beyond throughout the 20th century.
