Francisco Martínez Hoyos (Barcelona, 1972) received his doctorate with a thesis on the JOC (Juventud Obrera Cristiana) under Franco.
He returned to delve deeper into the world of progressive Christians with other studies, such as his biography of Alfonso Carlos Comín (2009), the well-known architect of the dialogue between faith and Marxism.
This passion for religious history is also reflected in Christianity and Islam (2020), on the relations between the two monotheisms.
His other major focus of interest, the Latin American past, with special emphasis on the period of independence, can be traced in titles such as Francisco de Miranda (2012), El indigenismo (2018) and Las Libertadoras (2019).
Former editor of the academic journal Historia, Antropología y Fuentes Orales, he collaborates with media such as Historia y Vida, Diario 16, El Ciervo, Foc Nou and Claves de Razón Práctica, among many others.
